"We Are So Stupid; We All Dream" at Quick? Art Show on Friday, April 8

T. Renner, "We Are So Stupid; We All Dream (for Richard Butler)," 2010, acrylic on paper, 6" x 4".

The above painting plus 11 others by me will be on display along with works by Gena Brady Allen and Kate Duncan at the Quick? art show being held at 2901 Macklind Avenue (one block north of Arsenal) on the Hill in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, April 8, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

"We Are So Stupid; We All Dream" is one of three paintings named after lyrics in three Psychedelic Furs songs by Richard Butler. The St. Louis rock group Bunnygrunt has recorded a song called "More Loves Than Stupids," based on the observation that Richard Butler used the word "love" more often than the word "stupid" on the debut Psychedelic Furs album. He also used the word "dream" frequently, as well, teaming it with "stupid."
